Ebury, the fintech company specialized in international payments and currency exchange, majority-owned by Banco Santander, has inaugurated its largest global office in Madrid.
Located at Paseo del General Perón 40, directly opposite the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, this new space responds to the company’s rapid growth in recent years, both in terms of activity and job creation.
With 2,600 square meters on a single floor and 260 workstations, the new Madrid office doubles the capacity of its previous space and surpasses even its London headquarters, becoming the company’s largest site.
A new office concept
To bring this ambitious project to life, Ebury partnered with Grupo Cador, a company specializing in the design and construction of workspaces.
The result is an innovative office concept that prioritizes employee well-being while enhancing productivity. The layout is strategically designed based on the company’s operational needs, with a focus on improving quality of life.
Grupo Cador has arranged the space to foster collaboration, placing teams near the departments they interact with most frequently.
Key aspects of interior design have been carefully considered: maximizing natural light through the building’s glazed curtain wall, enhancing acoustic comfort by reducing noise to support concentration, and incorporating biophilic design with a predominance of wood finishes and the addition of plants.
The office, equipped with ergonomic furniture, features a dining area that can accommodate over 100 people, coffee points spread throughout the floor, a wellness room, a relaxation area with a TV, foosball, and ping-pong tables, as well as a stunning auditorium for corporate events and training, 15 meeting rooms of various sizes, and several phone booths.
In addition, the design reinforces corporate identity, promoting a sense of belonging through a vibrant color palette, highlighting electric blue, pure white, and neon details that reflect the technological innovation at the core of the fintech’s DNA.
A Successful Model Expanding to Other Cities
The new office concept implemented in Madrid will set the standard for Ebury’s future on a global scale. Barcelona will be the next city to adopt this model, with the project already underway and also awarded to Grupo Cador.
“We aim to give a more defined design to our offices around the world, and the newly opened headquarters in Madrid is an example of the new concept we want to implement. It’s an ambitious global office renovation and expansion plan aligned with the company’s strong growth objectives,” explained Luis Merino, Managing Director of Ebury in Spain.
Currently, Ebury has more than 150 employees in Madrid and nearly 450 across Spain, distributed among its offices in Málaga, Barcelona, and León. Globally, the company operates in 40 locations across more than 25 countries.
