- Inspired by nature and parks, the new office prioritizes meeting spaces, with areas such as a modern agora, leisure areas, and informal work areas.
- Biophilic design to improve well-being and collaboration, while also enhancing relaxation and concentration.
The subsidiary of the prestigious Japanese multinational Hitachi, known for its intelligent data platforms, infrastructure systems, and digital experience, has just opened offices in Madrid, in collaboration with Grupo Cador.
The construction company, with more than 40 years of experience, was responsible for the design and construction, as well as the equipment for this project, executed under the turnkey model.
Under the motto ‘Inspire the Next’, Hitachi Vantara was looking for more than an office; it longed for a meeting space that would also reflect its identity as an infrastructure consultancy and its commitment to technology and innovation.
The concept
The objective of turning the headquarters into a meeting space has been the guiding principle of the project, both in terms of distribution and interior design. The entire office is conceived as such, and in particular, the central point, where a modern agora is located.

The circulations of users converge towards this area, taking as a reference the casual movements of many pedestrians who, on their walks, end up meeting in parks, places of recreation, located in the city center.
The agora is a closed space that invites interaction and creativity and represents the company’s innovation. It is striking from the outside due to its peculiar curved shape, and its appeal is even greater inside.
Color is the protagonist. The lighting, fully configurable in a simple way, floods the space, turning it into a canvas.
This is possible thanks to the minimalist design of the room: corporate logo, continuous bench, mobile and height-adjustable collaboration chairs, and a screen accompanied by two large blackboards.

Biophilic Design
Inspired by parks and vegetation, the design aims to transport the user to an environment of constant nature. From the total incorporation of natural plants to the choice of the color palette (mainly greens and browns) and materials.
In this sense, the use of wood stands out, providing warmth and being present throughout the office through different formats: the circular bench of the agora, designed, manufactured, and installed completely to measure, the acoustic slats on the ceiling, the spectacular office, the reception, etc.
It is also important to point out the use of carpets, carbon neutral throughout their life, with different very bright green tones, whose pieces are cut at various heights to imitate a lawn.

Likewise, the curved lines are a constant in the office, beyond the agora. Being more organic than straight lines, they manage to give the space fluidity. They are present in the cuts of the carpets and, following their pattern, also in the cuts of the acoustic slats on the ceiling.
With all this, Grupo Cador wishes to create an environment that fosters collaboration and well-being among employees and the rest of the users of its new headquarters.
Relaxation and Concentration
In the new Hitachi Vantara offices in Madrid, you can work in a concentrated manner while meeting with colleagues to rest and even find leisure moments.
In front of the reception, there is an informal work area, which includes flexible furniture, collaborative tables, and private workstations. The latter allow you to escape without having to go to a closed space, such as phone booths or meeting rooms, which are also available in various parts of the office.

The game area is quite unique, with space to play video games, foosball, and even a vintage pinball machine, which remains on, livening up the room with its music.

Grupo Cador has achieved, with the Hitachi Vantara headquarters in Spain, a work that is more than a workspace; it is a reflection of the values and vision of a leading technology company.
This project not only satisfies the functional and aesthetic needs of the company but also sets a new standard in design and construction of workspaces that inspire and connect.
